History does not tell of when, towards the end of the 1700s in Valle Talloria di Diano d'Alba, in the area known as the Langhe, for several gold florins Lorenzo Savigliano became a "particolare", as smallholders are still called locally today.
But there is an unwritten story which involves and binds together just a few people in a kind of family of wine-growers who, one after another, have kept faith with the vocation of their forefathers, remaining tied ever since to "that" land and "those" vines.
This may also be why, in this corner of the Langhe where facts and concrete actions are far preferred to words, and where the rhythm of life is still dietated by the changing of the seasons, it seems as if nothing has changed since grandpa Enrico (in 1911) set out ...
